ABSTRACT STRATEGY GAMES

WHAT IS IT?

Complexity level: 2

Perhaps one of the oldest and most classic type of game, abstract games call upon a player’s sense of reason and planning. Most abstract games are pretty easy to learn and fun to play, but you must plan a good 1-3 steps ahead of your opponent in order to outplay your opponent and win. At times, you may have to sacrifice something in order to pull ahead. The best example of an abstract game is chess. Chess originated in India around the 6th century C.E. In order to win the game, you must plan ahead. Abstract games can be fun once you know the rules, so give it a try!
