Tarun’s Story
Tarun is a dedicated college student with demonstrated commitment to advance the human understanding of the brain. Motivated by the unfortunate circumstance of a close childhood friend diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), his aspiration is to advance the body of research in neuroscience to improve the quality of life of all individuals with any brain disorder. He is currently majoring in neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh on the premed track, with plans to go on to medical school and get an MD degree, along with a Ph.D. in neurosurgery. He balances his academic activities with volunteering efforts, and the joy of playing the trumpet.
- Nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and state registered EMT in California.
- Principal trumpet (1st chair) in San Jose Youth Symphony’s Philharmonic Orchestra for 3 years. I performed in many locations across the Bay Area and in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland with the group.
- Founded a non-profit organization org to bring music to underserved elementary schools.
- Created and published a new strategy board game Badland Battle. You can order it here on The GAMECRAFTER.
- Authoring a blog tarunlive.com that covers articles on Neuroscience and game strategy.
