COOPERATIVE GAMES

WHAT IS IT?

Complexity level: 3

Cooperative games, also known as co-op, has seen some recent popularity. These games require all the players to work together to defeat a common enemy, either the game itself or one other player. The lone player or the board usually has some advantages to make up for the combined effort of the other players. This type of game is great when you don’t want to go up against other players, or, if one of the players in your group is more competitive than the rest. While cooperative games may be marginally harder to learn than abstract games, they are still very fun and great to play.
