THE NEUROSCIENCE OF MUSIC

Brain Health

Music impacts brain function in a positive way and activates all areas of the brain. This helps to keep brain pathways strong and is like exercise for the brain.

Boost Memory

Playing music boosts memory and it sharpens your memory recall. The process of playing an instrument involves complex functions that expands the memory capacity and helps you retain information longer.

Improved Cognitive Function

Music is known to improve cognitive function and people who play music throughout life may have a lower risk of developing dementia. It improves spatial-temporal learning and neurogenesis, the ability of the brain to produce neurons. Even patients who have severe Alzherimer’s disease have shown to respond to music, especially to simple percussion beats.
